The footpaths in Ubud are an exercise in balance, flexibility, agility and keeping your wits about you!
Gaping holes, slippery hazards, gravel, rubble, and not one even surface…you get the picture.
A few years ago when my arthritic hip was giving me grief and I was walking like an 80 year old, I went arse up in front of a group of tourists. I was on all fours…and as I looked up, they all walked around me! Avoiding all eye contact!
I tell you it was a real WTF moment! Had we become this disengaged and disinterested with our fellow human beings! Especially ones on the ground! It would have made a brilliant You Tube clip if someone had been filming in the background!
Anyway I obviously hadn’t been keeping my wits about me and my achy hip had left me with dubious balance skills!
Some days I love doing balance exercises…some days not so much…
Every day your body gives you something different. But either way I include them in my routines daily. Here’s one to try if you’ve got a fit ball. It’ll make your glutes feel super strong afterwards!
Tripping up is usually funny when you’re watching someone else do it…but not so much when you’re ‘it’!
