Are you cursed with this?  Comparisonitis!  Unwillingly comparing yourself to others? I do it.  Sometimes!  And I know I shouldn’t.  Because I tell other women not to do it.

It’s engrained.  Maybe from childhood and how we were conditioned as kids.

Comparisonitis!

We live in a world of it.

In my 20’s I alway noticed the gorgeous woman in the room…way before I noticed any man.  “Wow…look at her hair…I luuve her style….oooh look at her legs…oh gawd…I’ve GOT to train harder and stop eating so much!!”

Thankfully I’ve (nearly) left that crap behind.  I haven’t got it fully nailed.  I still notice gorgeous, strong women.  But with less of a ‘comparisonitis’ mindset!

There’s still a twinge here and there!   Usually when I’m scrolling through IG!  But I recognise it now for the waste of time and energy it is.

There’s ALWAYS going to be someone….

  • Better looking than you…
  • Fitter than you…
  • More intelligent than you…
  • And more successful than you….

OR someone not (what you consider) as good looking as you, as fit as you, as intelligent as you.  Or as successful as you!

Either way both are a crappy place for your mind to be…

And really serve you no purpose.

If you struggle with it…

Stop following people on IG or FB that trigger you. And stop reading stuff that makes you feel not so good about yourself.

It doesn’t mean you don’t like or respect that person

And doesn’t mean you’re an unkind person.  But life’s challenging enough without having to deal with comparisonitis issues!

Recognise it for what it is

A waste of your time and energy.  That serves no purpose.   But to make you feel that little bit more shitty about yourself!
